Michael Beach's Solo CD
Hands of a Thousand Dances

[2003]

Many different traditional and nontraditional drum pieces / solos + a few wonderful melodic [oud, vocal, midjwiz] surprises. In 1991 Michael Beach released his Basic Middle-Eastern Rhythms instructional series that incorporated drum kit with tradtional Middle-Eastern drums and rhythms. A true innovator with his Baladi Backbeat, Hands and Sticks, Beach again successfully marries the Western drum kit with Middle-Eastern drums in Hands of a Thousand Dances. His tradtional drum pieces will not only ignite and delight many Belly Dancers but will also further Michael's cause: "That people around the world need to hear his much loved Middle-Eastern music because if they heard it they would like it."

Silverthaw

Silverthaw is a collection of instrumental compositions by J. Michael Kearsey. Titled after the phenomenon of fog freezing on the tall trees of Oregon, the music is inspired by the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. There are interesting stylistic departures like "The Eyes of Kabul" that reflect his interest in Afghani music, and  " Listen to the River", a meditative song that received widespread airplay on formats like the Breeze, the Wave and Celestial Starstreams. CD and cassette.
